Department of Oral Pathology & Microbiology, Adhiparasakthi Dental College & Hospital, conducted a CDE programme on Wednesday 11.10.2017. A total number of 16 colleges from all over Tamilnadu, participated in the CDE programme. 375 delegates (47 Faculties, 328 Students) registered and attended the programme.

The chief guest was Dr. N. Malathi, M.D.S., Vice-Principal, Prof. & Head, Dept. Of Oral Pathology & Microbiology, Sri Ramachandra University, Chennai and the guest speakers were

 

1.  Dr. K. Ranganathan, M.D.S., M.S, PhD, Prof. & Head, Dept. Of Oral Pathology & Microbiology,      Ragas Dental College & Hospital, Chennai

2.   Dr. I. Ponnaiah, M.D.S., Prof. & Head, Dept. Of Oral Pathology & Microbiology, Tamil Nadu Govt. Dental College, Chennai

3.   Dr. R. Madhavan Nirmal, M.D.S., PhD, Prof. & Head, Dept. Of Oral Pathology & Microbiology, Rajah Muthiah Dental College & Hospital, Chidambaram.

The programme was inaugurated by lighting of kuthuvilakku by Sakthi Thiru Dr. T. Ramesh, M.D., correspondent, Prof. Dr. S. Thillainayagam, M.D.S., Principal of APDCH, Chief guest and the Guest speakers.

Prof. Dr. S. Thillainayagam delivered the welcome address. The correspondent, Dr. T. Ramesh addressed the gathering. The college toppers of BDS and MDS examination in the subject of Oral Pathology conducted by TN Dr. MGR medical university during the academic year 2016 – 17 were awarded with trophies. Vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. K. Dhivya, Reader, Dept. Of Oral Pathology & Microbiology, APDCH.

Guest speaker Prof. Dr. K. Ranganathan, gave an elaborate lecture on ‘Recent concepts & Advances in salivary gland tumors’.

Prof. Dr. I. Ponnaiah, gave an interactive and informative lecture on ‘How easy is pathological diagnosis’. He also explained four rare case reports in detail.

Prof.  Dr. R. Madhavan Nirmal, gave an extensive lecture on ‘Approach to Immunodiagnosis of tumors’.

After the guest lectures, scientific sessions were held. Total of 65 scientific e-posters were presented in 5 different halls. Presentations were categorized as UG/ PG/ CRRI and subcategorized as Case Report/ Review/ Original Research. The scientific presentations were judged by eminent Oral Pathologists from various colleges. Best 27 posters were awarded.

The programme was a grand success.
