Department Description
Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics is the dental specialty that deals with diagnosis, prevention, interception and correction of malocclusion as well as neuromuscular and skeletal abnormalities of the developing or mature orofacial structures with a variety of appliances. The Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics of Adhiparasakthi dental college and hospital was established in 2005. The post graduate department was started in the year 2013, currently functioning with 9 postgraduate students.
It is a state of the art department known for its elegance with well distinguished under graduate and post graduate sections with ample working space and convenience.
The department has to its credit, staffs with excellent academic and clinical achievements.
Facilities in the department include a modern orthodontic clinic and clinical laboratory, a spacious reception and waiting area, computer and, data-processing room, special equipment’s laboratory, library, photography room, seminar room, digital cephalometric & OPG room and separate faculty & postgraduate rooms. The postgraduate students are trained in all the advanced and contemporary treatment methods.

Vision
The vision of our department is to impart knowledge to our undergraduate and postgraduate students and promote the art and science of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics, providing high-end orthodontic treatment to patients in an ethical manner. We aim at closely working with other specialities like Oral and maxillofacial surgery, Periodontics and Conservative dentistry and Endodontics and prepare a new generation of orthodontists to deliver excellent treatment with skill and compassion.

Our Department of Orthodontics is committed in giving high quality treatment for the patients of different age groups including growing children, teenagers and adults, fulfilling their expectations. We strive to provide excellent orthodontic appliance therapy with utmost comfort and care to patients seeking orthodontic treatment.
